Bryn Parry CBE

Everyone at Help for Heroes is deeply saddened by the news that our co-founder Bryn Parry CBE has passed away at the age of 66 after a short illness with pancreatic cancer.

Bryn, his wife Emma Parry OBE, and a small group of close friends, set up the Charity up in October 2007 after identifying an urgent need for better care and support for wounded troops returning from Iraq and Afghanistan.

Bryn’s energy, dedication and passion soon propelled Help for Heroes into the national spotlight. The Charity became a household name overnight. As a result, hundreds of millions of pounds have been raised since. And the lives of tens of thousands wounded, sick and injured service personnel, veterans and their families have been transformed.

We’re so grateful for all Bryn has done and we have lots of amazing memories of him. We’re sure you do too. If you’d like to share your memories, condolences, and even a photo, please do so on this page.

Your dedication to supporting those who Serve and have is immense. I spent 7 years of my life teaching Adaptive Skiing for wounded and injured service personnel. Without the support of H4H the Battle Back programme would never have existed. Through your funding we trained prospective Para-Olympians and that is a legacy no one can ever take away from you. I am proud to have served, to help those who needed to realise their injuries did not own them. Thank you. Deepest condolences to your family
