Bryn Parry CBE

Everyone at Help for Heroes is deeply saddened by the news that our co-founder Bryn Parry CBE has passed away at the age of 66 after a short illness with pancreatic cancer.

Bryn, his wife Emma Parry OBE, and a small group of close friends, set up the Charity up in October 2007 after identifying an urgent need for better care and support for wounded troops returning from Iraq and Afghanistan.

Bryn’s energy, dedication and passion soon propelled Help for Heroes into the national spotlight. The Charity became a household name overnight. As a result, hundreds of millions of pounds have been raised since. And the lives of tens of thousands wounded, sick and injured service personnel, veterans and their families have been transformed.

We’re so grateful for all Bryn has done and we have lots of amazing memories of him. We’re sure you do too. If you’d like to share your memories, condolences, and even a photo, please do so on this page.

The family and friends of Bryn

In 1985 we moved to Hampshire and lived on a country estate. My young son and I did a lot of exploring and one day came across an artist's studio amongst the business units on the estate. We loved the cartoons and caricatures produced by the artist and all the background information-gathering that went into each completed picture. The artist was Bryn Parry. Years later, he became a household name for us when my daughter got a job at H4H. I had never forgotten him-a lovely man.
