Bryn Parry CBE

Everyone at Help for Heroes is deeply saddened by the news that our co-founder Bryn Parry CBE has passed away at the age of 66 after a short illness with pancreatic cancer.

Bryn, his wife Emma Parry OBE, and a small group of close friends, set up the Charity up in October 2007 after identifying an urgent need for better care and support for wounded troops returning from Iraq and Afghanistan.

Bryn’s energy, dedication and passion soon propelled Help for Heroes into the national spotlight. The Charity became a household name overnight. As a result, hundreds of millions of pounds have been raised since. And the lives of tens of thousands wounded, sick and injured service personnel, veterans and their families have been transformed.

We’re so grateful for all Bryn has done and we have lots of amazing memories of him. We’re sure you do too. If you’d like to share your memories, condolences, and even a photo, please do so on this page.

Make a Dedication

I served in Iraq during the period of H4H's meteoric rise, and even did a spell in Selly Oak. The inadequacies of military health and welfare at this time are too numerous to mention. It took someone with the compassion, drive and sheer doggedness like Bryn to make good some of the shortfalls. His commitment, tapping into a deeply felt desire to help on behalf of the great British public improved the lives of thousands of wounded soldiers and their families. He was one in a million.
