Bryn Parry CBE

Everyone at Help for Heroes is deeply saddened by the news that our co-founder Bryn Parry CBE has passed away at the age of 66 after a short illness with pancreatic cancer.

Bryn, his wife Emma Parry OBE, and a small group of close friends, set up the Charity up in October 2007 after identifying an urgent need for better care and support for wounded troops returning from Iraq and Afghanistan.

Bryn’s energy, dedication and passion soon propelled Help for Heroes into the national spotlight. The Charity became a household name overnight. As a result, hundreds of millions of pounds have been raised since. And the lives of tens of thousands wounded, sick and injured service personnel, veterans and their families have been transformed.

We’re so grateful for all Bryn has done and we have lots of amazing memories of him. We’re sure you do too. If you’d like to share your memories, condolences, and even a photo, please do so on this page.

I'm deeply saddened to hear the news about Bryn. What he and Emma achieved was nothing short of remarkable and all to help us. I only met Bryn the once at the Invictus UK team launch in 2016 and his warmth was infectious. Without his leadership in Help for Heroes and the support, opportunities and specialist treatment the charity has provided to my wife and I, without them I definitely would not be here today. Love to you Emma and to your family and friends. X
