Bryn Parry CBE

Everyone at Help for Heroes is deeply saddened by the news that our co-founder Bryn Parry CBE has passed away at the age of 66 after a short illness with pancreatic cancer.

Bryn, his wife Emma Parry OBE, and a small group of close friends, set up the Charity up in October 2007 after identifying an urgent need for better care and support for wounded troops returning from Iraq and Afghanistan.

Bryn’s energy, dedication and passion soon propelled Help for Heroes into the national spotlight. The Charity became a household name overnight. As a result, hundreds of millions of pounds have been raised since. And the lives of tens of thousands wounded, sick and injured service personnel, veterans and their families have been transformed.

We’re so grateful for all Bryn has done and we have lots of amazing memories of him. We’re sure you do too. If you’d like to share your memories, condolences, and even a photo, please do so on this page.

Make a Dedication

I served my Queen and Country and walked amongst the best, My heart almost bursts with pride when I see the medals on their chest. We've sank many pints together and shared mess tins full of stew, I've never been a hero but I've walked amongst a few. There are men and women I knew that now are gone and I miss them every day, They will never be forgotten, though in the ground they lay. We've marched in snow and ice together when the North winds blew, I've never been a hero but I've shook the hand
