Bryn Parry CBE

Everyone at Help for Heroes is deeply saddened by the news that our co-founder Bryn Parry CBE has passed away at the age of 66 after a short illness with pancreatic cancer.

Bryn, his wife Emma Parry OBE, and a small group of close friends, set up the Charity up in October 2007 after identifying an urgent need for better care and support for wounded troops returning from Iraq and Afghanistan.

Bryn’s energy, dedication and passion soon propelled Help for Heroes into the national spotlight. The Charity became a household name overnight. As a result, hundreds of millions of pounds have been raised since. And the lives of tens of thousands wounded, sick and injured service personnel, veterans and their families have been transformed.

We’re so grateful for all Bryn has done and we have lots of amazing memories of him. We’re sure you do too. If you’d like to share your memories, condolences, and even a photo, please do so on this page.

A very big Thankyou Bryn and Emma for help and kindness when my grandson Ben Zissman was so badly hurt in Afghanistan in 2010. He was in Queen Elizabeth hospital Birmingham and then Headley Court for a very long time. He is still in a wheelchair but always happy and full of fun. For him and so many injured soldiers as a family we will always remember your hard work and generosity. May you rest in peace Bryn and God Bless you Emma. With love and Thankyou from Ben’s family
