Bryn Parry CBE

Everyone at Help for Heroes is deeply saddened by the news that our co-founder Bryn Parry CBE has passed away at the age of 66 after a short illness with pancreatic cancer.

Bryn, his wife Emma Parry OBE, and a small group of close friends, set up the Charity up in October 2007 after identifying an urgent need for better care and support for wounded troops returning from Iraq and Afghanistan.

Bryn’s energy, dedication and passion soon propelled Help for Heroes into the national spotlight. The Charity became a household name overnight. As a result, hundreds of millions of pounds have been raised since. And the lives of tens of thousands wounded, sick and injured service personnel, veterans and their families have been transformed.

We’re so grateful for all Bryn has done and we have lots of amazing memories of him. We’re sure you do too. If you’d like to share your memories, condolences, and even a photo, please do so on this page.

Make a Dedication

An inspiration to all he encountered. I had the honour of working for Emma and Bryn helping them produce their vision fairly early on in their and H4H's journey. I remember after the first Easter egg hunt at Tedworth House Bryn taking me to one side and talking through their vision for the House in great detail when the place was full of temporary huts. That vision was realised and then some. His passion for doing right by the WIS was inspirational. It was a privilege and honour to know him.
