Bryn Parry CBE

Everyone at Help for Heroes is deeply saddened by the news that our co-founder Bryn Parry CBE has passed away at the age of 66 after a short illness with pancreatic cancer.

Bryn, his wife Emma Parry OBE, and a small group of close friends, set up the Charity up in October 2007 after identifying an urgent need for better care and support for wounded troops returning from Iraq and Afghanistan.

Bryn’s energy, dedication and passion soon propelled Help for Heroes into the national spotlight. The Charity became a household name overnight. As a result, hundreds of millions of pounds have been raised since. And the lives of tens of thousands wounded, sick and injured service personnel, veterans and their families have been transformed.

I am sad to see the loss of Bryn Parry he shone such a bright light on the plight of both Veterans young and old. And it is through his Endeavours with the support of his wife (on board from the start) that many Veterans have been able to live out their lives knowing that Help for Heroes have their backs should they need them. Rest in Peace Bryn.
