Bryn Parry CBE

Everyone at Help for Heroes is deeply saddened by the news that our co-founder Bryn Parry CBE has passed away at the age of 66 after a short illness with pancreatic cancer.

Bryn, his wife Emma Parry OBE, and a small group of close friends, set up the Charity up in October 2007 after identifying an urgent need for better care and support for wounded troops returning from Iraq and Afghanistan.

Bryn’s energy, dedication and passion soon propelled Help for Heroes into the national spotlight. The Charity became a household name overnight. As a result, hundreds of millions of pounds have been raised since. And the lives of tens of thousands wounded, sick and injured service personnel, veterans and their families have been transformed.

We’re so grateful for all Bryn has done and we have lots of amazing memories of him. We’re sure you do too. If you’d like to share your memories, condolences, and even a photo, please do so on this page.

You came, you saw, you smashed it! You motivated thousands of Individuals and businesses to participate and sponsor your unique and one of a kind events for the military community. You and Emma raised the bar for charities to aspire to. You saw an opportunity, grasped it with both hands and kept driving it forwards - absolutely incredible. Thank you for all you and your family have achieved, was a pleasure to join and cycle with you all back in 2008. Rest in peace, you’ll be missed.
