Bryn Parry CBE

Everyone at Help for Heroes is deeply saddened by the news that our co-founder Bryn Parry CBE has passed away at the age of 66 after a short illness with pancreatic cancer.

Bryn, his wife Emma Parry OBE, and a small group of close friends, set up the Charity up in October 2007 after identifying an urgent need for better care and support for wounded troops returning from Iraq and Afghanistan.

Bryn’s energy, dedication and passion soon propelled Help for Heroes into the national spotlight. The Charity became a household name overnight. As a result, hundreds of millions of pounds have been raised since. And the lives of tens of thousands wounded, sick and injured service personnel, veterans and their families have been transformed.

We’re so grateful for all Bryn has done and we have lots of amazing memories of him. We’re sure you do too. If you’d like to share your memories, condolences, and even a photo, please do so on this page.

Make a Dedication

We 1st met in ’07 - I had just finished 2yr of hospital/rehab, at the mercy of NHS/MoD med services that were not good. Your vision & grit, with Emma & the H4H team, changed how our nation sees its WIS, serving & veteran. You separated the politics of operations from “The Blokes” (to use your phrase), garnering support from the public & media. “The Blokes”, now & future, owe you a huge debt of gratitude. Our condolences go out to Emma & the family. R.I.P., Sir, sorely missed & never forgotten.
