Bryn Parry CBE

Everyone at Help for Heroes is deeply saddened by the news that our co-founder Bryn Parry CBE has passed away at the age of 66 after a short illness with pancreatic cancer.

Bryn, his wife Emma Parry OBE, and a small group of close friends, set up the Charity up in October 2007 after identifying an urgent need for better care and support for wounded troops returning from Iraq and Afghanistan.

Bryn’s energy, dedication and passion soon propelled Help for Heroes into the national spotlight. The Charity became a household name overnight. As a result, hundreds of millions of pounds have been raised since. And the lives of tens of thousands wounded, sick and injured service personnel, veterans and their families have been transformed.

We’re so grateful for all Bryn has done and we have lots of amazing memories of him. We’re sure you do too. If you’d like to share your memories, condolences, and even a photo, please do so on this page.

Make a Dedication

So sorry to hear of the passing of Bryn. We only met once, the opening briefing of BBBR 2016 at Ypres. I loved every minute. I didn’t ride, but was a member of the Ceremonial team; bugler playing Last Post at every commemorative service. I got home & said to my wife “we need to do this together” We have now ridden 4 and I will be back in 23. Riding with BOB/Ss is awesome, thanks to your vision & determination. RIP my friend. Leigh
