Bryn Parry CBE

Everyone at Help for Heroes is deeply saddened by the news that our co-founder Bryn Parry CBE has passed away at the age of 66 after a short illness with pancreatic cancer.

Bryn, his wife Emma Parry OBE, and a small group of close friends, set up the Charity up in October 2007 after identifying an urgent need for better care and support for wounded troops returning from Iraq and Afghanistan.

Bryn’s energy, dedication and passion soon propelled Help for Heroes into the national spotlight. The Charity became a household name overnight. As a result, hundreds of millions of pounds have been raised since. And the lives of tens of thousands wounded, sick and injured service personnel, veterans and their families have been transformed.

We’re so grateful for all Bryn has done and we have lots of amazing memories of him. We’re sure you do too. If you’d like to share your memories, condolences, and even a photo, please do so on this page.

Make a Dedication

It was an honour to have met, worked with and to be inspired by Bryn. Bryn worried about the huge issues but managed to also care about the small things as well. Having created the remarkable H4H, Bryn and Emma steered its very rapid growth with bravery and vision. At the same time Bryn cared about The Blokes, and his team. It is thanks to Bryn that I got on a bike and started cycling: he inspired me to build up the miles until I could join him on BBBR2016. Thank-you for everything Bryn.
